Bitcoin (BTC) has once again set a historic milestone by surpassing Alphabet ($GOOGL) in market capitalization. This indicates that the previous overtaking of Alphabet in July was not a mere exception.
Bitcoin's surge goes beyond simple price appreciation, drawing market attention through comparisons with physical and financial assets. Currently, the next market capitalization target for Bitcoin is Apple ($AAPL), which would require an increase to approximately $175,000 (approximately 243.25 million won).
The market sentiment is also optimistic. According to data from the decentralized prediction market platform Polymarket, about 46% of traders believe Bitcoin will exceed $130,000 (approximately 180.70 million won) this month, with a 5% possibility of surpassing $150,000 (approximately 208.50 million won). Cryptocurrency analyst Miles Deutscher suggested that "Bitcoin is currently entering the initial phase of a parabolic rise," hinting at further potential increases.
Bitcoin is also demonstrating its presence in relative performance against traditional assets. The XAUT/BTC ratio, which compares Bitcoin to gold prices, has dropped by approximately 42% since 2024 and continues to show Bitcoin's superiority by about 3% in 2025. Galaxy Digital CEO Mike Novogratz has previously mentioned that "Bitcoin can surpass gold," drawing significant interest.
Currently, gold maintains its position as the world's largest asset with a market capitalization of approximately $22.893 trillion (about 3,186.37 trillion won). However, if Bitcoin's upward trend continues, the scenario of overtaking gold cannot be completely ruled out.
The trend of Bitcoin consecutively surpassing traditional tech giants and precious metals is interpreted as a signal of cryptocurrency's asset class transformation. Bitcoin, once considered a speculative asset, is now establishing itself as a major asset exercising geopolitical influence on the global investment landscape.
